Gran Selezione Chianti Classico DOCG

Chianti Classico DOCG will have a new top classification called 'Gran Selezione'.

Wines in the Gran Selezione category must be produced entirely within the winery, and grapes must be grown by the winery itself. Minimum aging requirements is 30 months including 3 months of bottle aging.

Rocca Delle Macie's Gran Selezione is part of a wider winemaking project that began more than 16 years ago with the replanting of almost all of the Sangiovese vineyards on the company's Le Macie estate in Castellina in Chianti. It is the highest expression of Rocca Delle Macie's winemaking, encapsulates the very best of the Chianti Classico production zone. This wine expresses the best of its potential and of the terroir it comes from.

Made of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino, the wine has a deep ruby red color, with fruity and intense nose. Velvety taste with a very good balance. Long persistency and a touch of spices.

Vintage 2010 is the first vintage of this wine, with a total production of:-
5170 bottles
400 magnum
100 3L
